Belarus

Belarus is an interesting country, full of soviet inheritance.
Surprisingly Belorussians preserve soviet buildings and continue maintaining them

Opera theatre of Minsk, Bolshoy Teatr

Center of Minsk is full of typical soviet buildings and squares

Movie theatre from soviet times

Dynamo stadium of Minsk, newly renovated

Modern buildings of Minsk are super ugly, like  the National Library

Another very nice soviet inheritance

traffic lights of Minsk are super slim

Belarusian numb er plates are with national flag

one of the super large squares of Minsk was designed especially for military parades, and this is the places where soviet leaders used to watch it

nice subway station of Minsk

trains in subway are super long

Lee Harvey Oswald who assassinated US president Kennedy, used to live in this building in Minsk

a very small historical district of Minsk are left, like Trinity suburb

A cool monument to Belorussian artist Jazep Drozdovich

the historical center of Minsk is called Verhniy Hrad, means upper town

typical national Belorussian ornaments

the very center of Verhniy Hrad is the Ratusha, the town hall

the Belorussian coins are very similar to soviet coins

Belorussian banknote design is ver nice

Belorussian post-box

beautiful post office

all public buses are of yellow color

mini-buses are also wide spread

probably the number one thing to see in Minsk, the catholic church build by a Belorussian-Polish landowner

there is monument to Lenin at independence square of Minsk

another cool soviet installation

the longest avenue of Europe, the independence avenue

there is a very cool memorial to prominent soviet singer and songwriter Viktor Tsoi

Belarus was the last 44th country for me to visit in Europe.
Interestingly next to the memorial of Viktor Tsoi there is a footprint on the ground saying, place for the stepping ahead.

time for new challenges
